Our event at St. John’s this past Saturday was a great success.
Who attended:
13 women and 15 children from St. John’s Program for Real Change participated.
What was the event/purpose:
The activity focused on helping women and children recognize negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts and affirmations. Participants identified their “garbage thoughts” and symbolically put them in the trash.
They then created beautiful flower pot posters filled with positive thoughts and affirmations. Using sticky notes shaped like flowers and leaves, they built colorful bouquets representing the positive messages they wanted to carry forward.
Outcome:
A total of 28 participants took part in the activity. It was a fun, creative, and meaningful way to demonstrate that we can recognize negative self-talk, let it go, and intentionally replace it with thoughts that build confidence, positivity, and self-worth.
